Things are looking goof for this weekend! As of right now, I'm guessing about 40 shooters from the response here and around the area saying they are coming! So that $125 buy in should be paying back around $437.50 per round if all 40 show up. Not huge money, but not bad for a meat shoot. I'm expecting one of y'all shooters to set up and run a nice side pot to get the winners some more money! Don't forget we'll be throwing in 4 optional bacon rounds as well, so bring a little extra to try to shoot for 10lb boxes of slab bacon! :D

Just a reminder on the rules:

$125 buy in gets you 2 shots per round, 8 money rounds. There is an optional side jar that the winners of the 8 money rounds can shoot off for at the end. How much to throw in the jar will be diced by YOU SHOOTERS on Saturday! If you don't throw in for the jar and you win a round, you don't get to shoot for it. Simple enough.

36" max length (including choke, measured from receiver to end of barrel)
1" max od
.675 choke restriction
scopes, beads, rifle sights all ok
bench, bags, bipods all ok.

Shells are Federal Top Gun #9's (part number TGL12-9 from Federal) shooting distance of 66'. Closest shot to the X is the winner.

Targets are set in a high/low fashion at each window, so be prepared to adjust from shot to shot! Remember this is about who has the baddest MEAT gun, not rail gun. If you want to bring your rail gun, by all means it is welcome, just don't argue about having to adjust between shots. Several of the local guys on here have been to the shoot and after shooting realized it actually pretty easy to adjust, so just giving everyone a heads up now so there are no surprises on Saturday.

Doors open at 9am for practice, match starts at 11am. Food will be provided to the shooters. Menu is fried chicken, pork BBQ, deep fried hot dogs, and some sides. Figure if we clog your arteries enough, you'll want to come back. :poke:

You would think that with a title of SUPER MEAT SHOOT, we would be shooting for Filet Mignon on those 4 rounds :)

[bI JUST WANNA SAY I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK. SEEMS YOU REALLY GOT A GOOD THING GOING HERE AND I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET THESE THINGS GOING WITH THE CALIBER SHOOTERS YOU WANT ESPECIALLY FOR A MEAT SHOOT. I WISH OUR SHOOTS WERE A FEW WEEKS APART BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE TO GET THERE BUT BEING THE WEEK BEFORE MY BIG SHOOT IT'S ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE. NEXT TIME I WILL MAKE IT THERE FOR SURE. HECK, MAKE YOU SOME MONEY AND COME ON DOWN TO MINE NEXT WEEK TO TRY GET SOME OF IT. PLENTY OF YOU GUYS FROM VA I WOULD LOVE TO GET THERE. EITHER WAY I KNOW YOU PUT IN THE PREPARATION AND I HOPE IT ALL PAYS OFF FOR YOU. I BET YOU ARE LIKE ME IN ONE ASPECT, THE HARDEST PART IS NOT SHOOTING YOURSELF. I SHOOT DURING MY WEEKLY REGULAR SHOOTS AMD NOBODY MINDS DUE TO THE FACT YOU CANT TELL ONE CARD FROM ANOTHER AND PEOPLE THAT KNOW ME KNOW I WILL SCREW MYSELF BEFORE I DO SOMEONE ELSE. TWO REASONS, I WAS RAISED BETTER THAN THAT AND I DON'T WANNA RUIN WHAT I HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO START AND IT IS FINALLY STARTING TO TAKE OFF. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD SHOOT ON THE 3RD EVEN IF ALL SAID YES JUST DUE TO THE FACT IT ONLY TAKES ONE PERSON TO FEEL LIKE I DID SOMETHING WRONG AND THIS WOULD BE LAST TIME PEOPLE WOULD TRAVEL TO SHOOT WITH ME. HOPE YOU HAVE SO MANY SHOOTERS SHOW UP U HAVE TO GO TO GROCERY STORE FOR MORE MEAT.[/size][/b]

Thanks to everyone for the great response! I am by no means a "1 man operation". This has been a huge club effort to organize this whole thing and get stuff together. Both of my brothers (Rob and John) have really been the behind the scenes ring leaders in getting most of it setup. I'm just the mouth that keeps it going. While i was away for work, John organized and built a nice new back wall to catch the lead and keep if from ending up in the tree line. Rob is spending the night at the club Friday smoking up the butts to make sure everyone gets fed and John has been all over me to make sure I have enough shells and targets as well as getting me the food for everybody. The rest of the club members have helped with the wall construction and will be running their butts off to keep things moving with the targets shells and food. All while I get to sit at a table and try not to screw up judging. We'll try to get some good pictures of the match and post them up as quick as possible along with the winners.

I can say this, knowing now about how much work it takes to run a large shoot like this, my hat is off to all of the other shooting houses that do this on a regular basis!

Thanks PaPa John!

You are so right about the work. I'm not a one man operation, I'm a 2 lol. This larger shoot thing is alot of work as you said but when its all over and we look back if we can smile and know we did a good job thats what really matters. I don't know much about your shoot but just kinda take it as being alot like mine. Hometown shoot, nothing fancy but managed to the best of your ability. I have no doubt this gonna be big for you and always proud to see the small man rise up. From my heart i wish you the best of luck. P.S. We still gotta get together for our lil challenge lol

A last minute update!

Do NOT use the address listed on the shooting house page, it will send you to the wrong place. Instead use this address:

6566 Winston Place
King George, VA

If you get lost or need better directions, call me at 571 259 5880
