All about the Chat Room

Postby Linda » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:04 am

The old Chat Room wore out.... not really! But since it's so well used I thought I'd find something a little better. Hence the NEW Chat Room.

CHAT ROOM: The simplest explanation is it's like a page that shows up on your computer screen, you talk (type) to other shooters and they talk (type) back to you. The screen refreshes every few seconds so that everyone in the chat room can see what's been said (typed).

It's pretty layed back and anyone is welcome to join in! It's simple and easy to use. Don't be afraid to join in the conversation, they're just a bunch of shooters like you!! They talk about everything and anything. Meet your buddies and save on your phone bill !! Probably the neatest part about the Chat Room is getting to know someone who lives no where near you and then meeting up with them at a shoot. You can usually find someone there just about any night of the week after 7pm and during the day on Sunday. Sunday and Monday seem to be the most popular nights, But shooters are in and out all the time.

To use the Chat Room you must be a registered Forum member. Once you are logged into the Forum you will see a link to the Chat Room at the top right of the page. All you need to do is click the link. At the bottom of the main Forum page you can see whether or not there is currently anyone in the Chat Room.

When you enter you'll probably be in the main room (Mayor's Room). You can navigate to the other rooms by using the small bar near the top of the chat screen.

Once in the chat room you can customize your background, text size & color, send private messages. There are sounds to let you know what's going if you're surfing in another window and more.

The only minor issue we are aware of is the time stamp that appears in the chat window next to postings. It should show your current time. One user reported that the time was off by 3 hrs. While this is a very minor issue and doesn't effect anything we would like to know if you run into this or anything else.
If you have questions or problems with the Chat room post them in this section of the forum.

Check it out, you won't be sorry and we guarantee you'll make new freinds!!!
